Skating

By far my favorite winter activity is skating. It is possible to go skating indoors all year round, but there is nothing like doing it in the winter. I think the mere act of skating puts you in the winter mood no matter where you are. There is just something about gliding on the ice in the cold air. It gives you this profound sense of freedom that is impossible to feel at any other time of the year. You need to see your breath. You need to feel the cold air on your face. If you do that, you will appreciate the beauty of winter.
