Write a short essay about the best teacher you have ever had.

The best teacher I ever had was Ms. Davidson. She was my grade 4 teacher. Before Ms. Davidson,
my teachers were either grumpy old men or nagging old ladies. Ms. Davison made me realize that
teachers could be "cool". She had long blonde poker-straight hair and a rather plain face that
seemed to come with a permanent grin. She dressed bit like a hippie but that wasn't particularly
strange in the early seventies. The reason she is my all-time favorite teachers is because she
was the first teacher to treat me like a grown-up. She seemed genuinely interested in helping
me grow as a person and eagerly listened to anything a I had to say. She also gave me a love
for music. Before her class, I thought music was just silly nursery rhymes set to music and
I dreaded the days we had singing practice. Ms. Davidson taught us real, modern music.
The first song we learned was Morning Has Broken by Cat Stevens. It was such a beautiful song
that my eyes teared up just about every time I sang it. It was so wonderful to learn that music
can move you deeply. I hope I can meet Ms. Davidson again someday and thank her for giving me
such a precious gift.
