Make a list of five New Year's Resolutions for 2019. Be specific about what the behavior
is that you want to start doing, or stop doing, and include reasons for why you want to
make the change.
1. Be more mindful of what I'm eating.
I tend to eat way too many sugary treats and drink too many sodas. I end up feeling quite tired
and lazy by the end of the day. I'd like to start cutting down on sugar.
2. Do something fun on the weekends.
After I finish work on Fridays, I usually go home and rest. I normally just watch television or
play games on Saturday and Sunday, then return to work on Monday. I'd like to start doing
something more with my weekends, such as going out for hikes, or visiting museums, etc.
3. Keep in touch with my family.
Now that I am an adult, I don't often speak with my parents or my other family members. I miss
speaking with them, so I will start making some time for speaking with them on the phone, and I
will make notes in my calendar so I can remember to get in touch with them.
4. Stop smoking.
I've been smoking way too much recently. I often feel out of breath and I get sick quite easily.
As such, I'd like to stop smoking completely and quit the habit for good! I'm going to talk to
a doctor about my options and perhaps start using a patch.
5. Cook more at home.
I eat out at restaurants all the time. I am busy with work each day, so when I am on the train home
after I finish, I often just stop somewhere and get something quick. This is unhealthy and quite expensive.
Instead, I'd like to start cooking at least one meal at home, every day.
